10inch !!!! this is something special. 10 years after its very limited release (simply due to a low budget and limited sales expectations, not to try and make the record scarce), norm talleys the journey is picked up by a a few hip berlin djs, and a fire starts with the record being offered on ebay for over €100.00, because nobody can find a copy. even norm had to borrow a copy when he went to dj in berlin and the berlin party crowd had already asked him to confirm if he was bringing the record..no joke. so here is that tune, the journey, now re-mastered by stefan betke and cut by andreas@schnittstelle, and sounding very nice. on the flip is the unreleased in yo soul, chosen by third ear to complement the journey and complete a full on in your face piece of norm talley groove. and to round it off, its on a 10. cool and compact. just like norm, who is known in the dj circles of detroit as a secret weapon.. need your party fixing?... call norm talley. serge at clone kindly added a few words... nice re-issue of an obscure dj favorite produced by norm talley and previously released on the nouveau riche label from detroit. here you have two tracks that turn out to be great dj tracks when played out loud. the journey somehow got lost in obscurity. but luckily someone was clever enough to get it back out again, together with the previously unreleased in yo soul, and here they are... 10 inches of pleasure! pure detroit house music as we like it

slang bang is benno blome, the head of sender, and pan/tone aka sid le rock. the duo delivers powerful tracks combining force and restraint with a wicked imagination. >amaaazing< for example sets the records tone with an aura of mystery, creeping like a secret agent on muted, methodical beats, as buzzing synths and foggy atmospheres round out the film noir effect

asd008 sees the return of alex krueger and a welcome one at that! this oneÆs 5 tracks deep (including a digital exclusive) and includes a pair of fine remixes from londoner-in-berlin, mark henning, ôblasted bitchö is tigerskin at his best. the title cut is a feast of sonic trickery, with sounds playing off each other beautifully to create a wide, dense soundscape which, paired with clipped percussion, clever dancefloor arrangement, evil laugh & crude vocal sample this one delivers tough. henning, a man known for his abilities with sound design himself, takes a darker route with his interpretation which, while still driving, is more of a heads down late night affair û riddled with oddball delays and some unnerving vox efx. ôwhat theö takes a turn to the darkside, moody, sharp, reveb laden and pulsing, the track is real heavy business watch out for that unholy belgian hardcore synth riff a la ômentasmö, thereÆs a real æmomentÆ in there. to round off the original cuts. responseö continues seeing tigerskin provide a straighter groove but one which displays some sterling keyboard work and strong break. finally, henning provides another remix of the title track as the digital only addition all too important these days. futuristic deep, tech-house is about as close as a description anyone needs for this superb final piece of an equally superb package.

244 km!! thats the distance between berlin and hamburg. this is what hauke freer and matthias reiling do as often as possible to visit each others studios and start fighting over bass lines and kick drums. after some top notch releases on the real soon and morris audio record labels we are very pleased to welcome a four tracker from the duo at hairy claw hq. the boys open up the ep with swashbuckler, hypnotic, minimal grooves with snatches of percussion and spun in samples. very go round carries on the minimal grooves but juxtaposes jazzy snatches and wonky stabs. foot the bill introduces tribal rhythms and samples, whilst drum fest black betty rounds things off with a percussive and left field slant. a varied and impressive debut from hauke and matthias on hairy claw.

made to play brings the noise with the sounds of wearhouse music and head honcho lee mortimer. lee mortimers exciting, sleazy, demented take on house has been kicking the sh*t out of dance floors and festivals the world over. this e.p is not for the faint hearted but is for those who like to rock a big crowd in a ballistic way. when jimi hendrix played not just one but both sides of it at woodstock in the 70s the place went off its tits and when he reverted back to playing the guitar it just couldnt compare and he never quite got over that. lee mortimer is currently reveling in mass support from the likes of switch, claude vonstroke, diplo and kriss akabusi who apparently likes to play these tracks as a post love ritual, naked and chanting awooga! round the camp fire he has in his bedroom. if you want to embellish the feeling of either hendrix or akabusi in the primes of their existences then get stuck into this release and youll feel like a combination of the two peaking on acid.

baker street sits perfectly alongside such great french labels as robsoul and brique rouge and fittingly, phil weeks delivers a trademark deep and soulful groove for lead track. 3 variations on the theme, but label bosses holmes & watz step out of their familiar territory for a smoking hip hop joint to round the ep off. baker street offer a top notch ep that would get even the good dr watson nodding his head to.

see you around is the second vinyl release by margaret dygas and first on non standard productions. this 12 is a warm combination of healthy and mellow yet solid beats combined with rough shredded guitars. you’ll be hearing round edges as much as square bubbled sounds and psychedelic synths traveling through out both tracks. tobias freund was responsible for the production and the additional analog mixdown treatments. all in all a record that follows the idea of non standard productions.
